RNAO Interest Groups
A number of RNAO Interest Groups fund awards and/or scholarships that are administered through RNFOO. Brief descriptions of those interest groups and the awards they sponsor are provided below. Interest Group names below are linked to their website where available.
CHNIG's mission to act as the voice of community Health Nurses influencing the health care system, and health and social policy in areas which affect the work of Community Health Nurses and the public we serve.
Membership in the Diabetes Nursing Interest Group (DNIG) is open to all Registered Nurses and nursing students interested in the area of diabetes education and care.
MCNIG, formerly the Childbirth Nurses' Interest Group (CNIG), represents nurses interested in promoting optimal health for women, families and infants across the continuum of childbearing from preconception to the postnatal and early infancy periods.
MHNIG promotes the health and well-being of people who are at risk of experiencing mental illness and/or emotional distress as well as promoting mental health services which are responsive to the needs and wishes of consumers and the community.
The NRIG promotes the conduct and utilization of nursing research in Ontario through lobbying, funding, educating, collaborating and networking, with the goal to improve the health of people in Ontario.
The Ontario Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (OARN) is the professional association for Ontario Registered Nurses or nursing students with an interest in rehabilitation.
The Ontario Nursing Informatics Group (ONIG) was formed in 1980 and achieved RNAO status as an affiliate group in 1991. ONIG's purpose is to provide a forum for nursing and other professionals to communicate and disseminate current developments in eHealth.
PedNIG strives to strengthen the profession of Nursing in Ontario by supporting and representing action on behalf of Pediatric Nurses with respect to Pediatric Nursing and Pediatric Health Care in collaboration with the Board of Directors of Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO).
PNEIG's purpose is to provide a forum for members interested in educational matters to network and discuss issues of provincial and regional importance.
