What You Need to Know: Gala 2017 Fact Sheet - Wednesday May 3rd
Welcome to the 2017 RNFOO Gala! Whether this is the first time you are attending or you are a regular attendee, the RNFOO Gala Committee would like to provide you with some details regarding this year’s Gala.
It is important to recognize why we have a gala event. It is through the funds raised via ticket sales, the silent auction and the Donor Challenge that RNFOO is able to invest in nurses through the annual awards and scholarship program. This year we are recognizing individuals who were successful in gaining awards from the total funding of $94,000. The gala is a way of not only recognizing our successful award and scholarship recipients, but also raises funds to ensure our continuing support for the profession.
Sonya Jancar & Gina Marasco,
Co-Chairs, RNFOO Gala Committee
Location: Parkview Manor
Parkview Manor is located at 55 Barber Greene Road, Toronto, just north of Eglinton Avenue on the West side of Don Mills Road. You may want to look up on the Internet for more detailed directions here. There is plenty of free parking available at Parkview Manor.
What is the timing of the Event?
The evening opens with a reception from 17:30 to 19:00 hours with a hors d'oeuvres and complimentary cocktails. This is a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues, network, and participate in the exciting silent auction. Dinner begins at 19:00 and the event concludes at approximately 21:30. The Donor Challenge will run throughout the Cocktail Reception and Dinner.
What is the appropriate Dress for the Gala?
We describe this as business elegant but feel free to dress a little more formally if you like.
Donor Challenge: Bring cash, cheque, debit card or credit card if you wish to participate in the Donor Challenge. There will be prizes awarded at intervals through the night based on donations received.
Silent Auction: We have a broad selection of items including jewelry, home decor, event tickets and personal items of interest. We will be accepting cash, debit or major credit cards from the winning bidders. We hope there will be some healthy competitive bidding for a good cause.
Networking Opportunities: Many tables are “purchased/sponsored” by agencies, companies and individuals…be sure to come prepared to network with other nurses and friends of nursing.
