Revised Gala Page Banner 2021

Welcome to the RNFOO Gala!

Please note: we're going virtual!  To get the most out of the event, we recommend that you review our Virtual Tour of the venue.  You will see the Lobby, and learn how to connect with help at the Reception Desk.  The Reception Lounge is explained and you will see the auditorium, where the program will be presented. Watch the demonstration a couple of times, so that you will feel confident about participating fully in the celebration.

Let’s get ready for a great evening. One of the great Gala traditions is the opportunity to re-connect with friends and colleagues. We have a Reception Lounge that will allow you to visit various tables and share in conversations with up to 12 people at a time.

Another of the great Gala traditions is the Cosmopolitan. Join those in the auditorium to learn how to make the official beverage of the RNFOO Gala. Caitlin McIvor, Mixologist will lead us through the steps. Make sure to purchase the ingredients listed in her recipe and follow along.

If you’re not too busy re-connecting with folks you haven’t seen since the 2019 Gala, you might be interested in a snack. Chef Deborah is going to help us with that. Again, make sure you purchase the ingredients listed on the recipes if you want to make your own Charred Okra or Chickpea Fritters, or simply find your favourite appetizer and sit back to enjoy the program.

Krista Kamstra-Cooper, President, RNFOO will get us started, and introduce us to Christianna Facey-Crowther, host for the evening.  Christianna is a Registered Nurse in general surgery at Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital, and host of At The Bedside, a nursing podcast supported by an RNFOO Nurse Innovator Award.

We are celebrating the good news of the impact that RNFOO has. We’ll share our story through the words of award winners, current and past, and other Foundation volunteers. But you have to attend to be the first to see it.

fREElABELWhat event would be complete without some great music? Previously seen at the Beaches Jazz Festival, the Mariposa Folk Festival, and concerts throughout the Province, we are pleased to welcome The Free Label to our program.

And to end, we will have a very special guest with a message just for us. He is a household name and you won’t want to miss him.
