Award Description

The Jones Whitcombe Childbearing Family Award, with a value of $1,000, will be awarded to a student enrolled in a Graduate Nursing Program at a recognized School of Nursing who has demonstrated commitment to the field of nursing care of the childbearing family.

Award Background

Heather Jones and Alison Whitcombe provided management services to RNFOO for more than a decade. Through their years of working with the organization, they developed a deep appreciation for the importance of supporting nursing education and encouraging the next generation of nurses.

Both Heather and Alison have a particular passion for supporting families, and women in particular, throughout their childbearing years. This shared commitment to maternal and family health has inspired them to establish an award for nursing students pursuing education and careers that contribute to the health and well-being of women, children, and families.
