When the Prenatal & Parent Education Services closed in 1992, its Board decided that the remaining assets would be used to establish scholarship and research awards in perinatology, and requested that RNFOO administer the funds.

The Prenatal & Parenthood Education Research Award provides an opportunity to a Registered Nurse who wishes to undertake a research project related to perinatal nursing.
