Zero Hunger App to support the development of deeply cooperative networks

The Zero Hunger App uses research on socially conscious computing and Artificial Intelligence to get food to people who are food insecure and at the same time create deeply cooperative networks.

The team is using computational tools to create sociotechnical systems which will build social capital and empower communities to address food insecurity. They will build the app with Professors Amanda McEachern-Gaudet and Dr Peter Lewis from the faculty of Business and Information Technology at Ontario Tech University.

The app will be piloted in a neighbourhood area in Toronto with the intention of an eventual rollout to other communities that could benefit from the app.
