An advocate for social equity, Athena has been working with underserved populations in multidisciplinary contexts for over a decade. She continues to dedicate her nursing career to social justice through her work as an RN in rural northern communities. As a current student of Lakehead University’s Master of Public Health program specializing in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner electives, she is training to provide care for the individual and the community through implementing downstream, midstream, and upstream interventions. She remains fascinated by the world around her, and spends her free time indoors reading and outdoors enjoying nature.
