Ivy Tran is a community health nurse pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Western University. Ivy’s nursing career began in community mental health where she worked with individuals experiencing mental health conditions and homelessness. Her passion for community health continued at the local community health center in primary care.

Recognizing the importance of building capacity on an individual and population level, Ivy found herself in Public Health, where she is now a Vaccine Preventable Disease Nurse. Ivy’s Master’s thesis work focuses on promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion. Her thesis work on Indigenous Health education, particularly, Canadian nursing students’ experiences of learning Indigenous Health across Canada will draw implications to improve nursing education, leadership, and research.
