Tsinat Semagn is a Registered Nurse pursuing her Master of Science in Global Health at McMaster University. Tsinat’s desire to see increased diversity within health science disciplines is insatiable. As a student, she played an active role in advancing initiatives to dismantle barriers at the intersection of race, health, and education. Tsinat’s unique cross-cultural experiences as a youth inspired her to study global health at the Master’s level. For her thesis, she is researching the impact of transnational family separation on the psychosocial wellbeing of migrant parents from Sub-Saharan Africa. She hopes to translate this new knowledge into actionable steps that professionals can take towards improving supports and services for this population.
