Decision making during acute health events is complex and often occurs under conditions of uncertainty, potentially causing emotional strain for staff. This is true for nurses in long-term care where residents are experiencing increased frailty and nurses typically take a lead role. The innovation aims to develop two interactive e-modules to build knowledge and skills. Using branching logic, one e-module would guide learners through the emotions, care pathways and clinical outcomes that can occur in these situations and the other would serve as a supplementary, just-in-time learning tool to support the real-time application of key learnings, promoting practice change.
