Award Description

The Margaret Axelson Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 through memorial donations made by Margaret’s family and friends. The scholarship criteria reflect Margaret’s style of work and life.

Origin

To support a student enrolled in a Baccalaureate program at a recognized School of Nursing who demonstrates commitment to being a strong team player.

Honoree Background

A graduate From Toronto Western School of Nursing, Margaret worked to help support patients for over 40 years as a Registered Nurse.

Her fun-loving nature and no-nonsense attitude made her a natural at her job and a vital contributor to the health care system in which she worked. Margaret was a team-player, worked well with others and always kept her calm while working in the often hectic health care setting. 

Margaret’s family are thrilled to be able to have her legacy live on as her scholarship works to support Undergraduate Nursing students who themselves, are also team players.
